Musikmesse 09: RME Fireface 400 USB
The Fireface 400 UC (USB Compact) is the newest interface offering from RME. It uses USB 2.0 and is fully compatible with Windows and Mac computers. The device houses two seperate sets of firmware: one for Windows, one for OS X. This is so that, regardless of what OS you’re running, this thing will technically work at maximum capacity. Pretty slick feature.
But since this is an interface, we care about the specs:

- 8 analog I/Os
- 1 ADAT/SPIDF I/O
- 2 MIDI I/Os
- Sample rates up to 192kHz on all I/Os
- 2 preamps
- 2 balanced line-ins
- Wordclock
